About Limited Releases

If you're subscribed to our email list or follow us on social media, you've likely noticed announcements for "Limited Release" drops every 3 or so months. These drops consist of pens, pencils, and knives that are given special treatments and sold either as individual, unique items, or in small batches.

Because of the limited quantities these tend to sell out quickly. Below is some general information about our Limited Releases so you're ready for the next drop.

Schedule and timing

Most of our drops happen at noon central time on either a Tuesday or Thursday. We announce future drops once the product pages, copy, and images are ready on our website. While they aren't available for purchase until the launch date and time, you can browse through the options and sign up for an automatic email notification when inventory is added.

To ensure proper functionality before the email campaign is sent, we generally add inventory ~5-10 minutes before the launch time (e.g., 11:55am central for a noon launch).

Fair warning: we see a large increase in traffic during this time so please expect competition for popular items.

Adding to shopping cart does not reserve items

Often times customers add a particular item to their cart and continue shopping, only to find it's unavailable when they go to check out. Adding an item to your cart does ensure it's reserved as products are removed from inventory only after check out. The best way to secure the items in your cart is to immediately head to check out, filling in the necessary information, and completing the purchase. If you see an order confirmation page that means you have successfully placed your order. If not, someone else was likely faster and your card will not be charged.

Product listings

Limited Releases can be sold as individual, unique items meaning the one you see is the exact one you get or as a small batch. While we do our best to ensure the photos and descriptions are accurate, there may be some unintentional mixups.

If you receive something completely different from what you ordered, submit a request and we'll do our best to make it right.

How to prepare for drops

To maximize your chances of successfully ordering a Limited Release item, we recommend going through the following steps:

• Create a Tactile Turn or Tactile Knife Co. account and ensure the shipping and billing information is accurate
• Have your payment card ready for a fast checkout
• Fill your cart in advance with any non-release items you wish to order
• Follow @TactileTurn and @TactileKnifeCo on Instagram to be reminded of upcoming drops
• Use the "Notify Me When Available" option on the product pages to get an automated email when inventory is added
• Join our email lists to receive monthly updates and releases (signup forms are in the footer)

Fulfillment

Unless noted otherwise we do our best to ship Limited Release items on the same or next business day. We only put inventory on our site that is boxed and ready to ship but sometimes there aren't enough hours in the day.
